The Safe Cig Electronic Cigarette is an innovative new two piece e-cigarette that has become quite popular recently. Each of The Safe Cig refill cartridges comes with a new atomizer that can be disposed of when the cartridge is used up. The design is similar to the Green Smoke two piece design, but The Safe Cig has the male adapter piece on the refill cartridge and because of this, they claim to be able to put a larger refill in each cartridge so that each cartridge lasts longer, which actually is the case I’ve found. In fact, each cartridge is equivalent to about 2 packs of traditional tobacco cigarettes.
The Safe Cig is only offered in 3 flavors because they want to closely mimic the offerings of traditional tobacco cigarettes and frown at offering fruity flavors that could be appealing to children and young adults. The Safe Cig was created to give smokers an alternative to traditional tobacco cigarettes that are much more harmful. So, The Safe Cig doesn’t offer Strawberry, Pineapple or Cherry flavors and the reason for this is that they really only want to sell their e-cig to existing smokers, not to children, which is something I support as well.
The Safe Cig offers 3 different types of Starter Kits.
Starter Kit: You have the base model starting at $59.99 ($56.95 with our 5% reader’s discount). This contains everything you need to get started with e-cigs. It is probably great for those who haven’t had the chance to try e-cigarettes yet and don’t want to spend too much money to dip their feet in. However, I think there is some great value (and extra convenience) to be found in the slightly larger kits.
Starter Kit Pro: The ‘Pro’ kit comes with an extra battery for just $20 more, saving you $10 if you were to purchase this separately later. This not only saves you money, but is great for when you’re on the move and need to have a spare battery free.
Starter Kit Deluxe: This is the ‘ultimate’ TSC kit I wished I had purchased when I started with Safe Cig. It contains everything: 3 Batteries, The Safe Case, Car Charger, a spare UBS charger and extra refills all included. At $137.95 ($131.05 with the ECR.NET coupon) it may seem expensive, but the extra accessories included on the base Starter Kit are worth over $120 by themselves! I made the mistake of buying and loving the Pro Kit, then having to go back and buy these all separately. This is with the benefit of hindsight of course! It started with the case to protect my batteries when I was out and about, then an extra USB charger for the office and then the car charger for the road trip to a friend’s wedding. It wasn’t even until I was writing this review that I realized the money I could have saved, so this is definitely the kit I would personally recommend.
Safe Cig also stands behind their product, offering a 30-day satisfaction guarantee and a lifetime warranty on their e-cigarette. You won’t find many e-cig companies that will stand behind their product like that. I spoke with one of the owners this past month and I was told that out of the hundreds and hundreds of kits sold, less than 10 were returned! This definitely proves people are getting exactly what they expect and that defects are very rare with their kits, which is important with a device that’s so simple, yet so complex.
Our Safe Cig Review Scores:

“Spent two days researching personal reviews of different e-cig brands, eliminated many brands by reading review sites . . . it came down to 3-4 major brands, for quality, reputation, great vapor delivery and lifetime guarantee . . . glad to have chosen the ‘Safe Cig’ brand!
Only ordered the Safe Cig kit to try it out, not to quit smoking. In the first few days of use my tobacco cigarette smoking has been nearly eliminated! -I never anticipated that! Good fortune with your e-cigarette purchase decision”. Mathew Spencer Jan 02 2010

I tried Electronic Cigarette Inc first about 1 year ago. Their ecigs did not work very well but their support was great. In January 2010, I purchased Smoking Everywhere on a ‘verbal’ money back guarantee from the phone sales person. Their ecigs worked a bit better but still were not satisfactory and the cartridges that did work did not last very long. I tried to get a refund and they refused. I found out that Smoking Everywhere has an FFF rating with the Better Business Bureau. I gave up on ecigs until later this year when my cough from regular cigarettes got so bad I had to quit. So, I quit for a few days and delt with the cravings. I came across my electronic cigarettes inc ecigs that I had not yet thrown away and got them to work somewhat better by dragging with just the right pressure but they still didn’t work well. For fear I would cave and smoke regular cigarettes again, I researched reviews of ecigs for hours and narrowed things down to safe cig and green smoke. safe cig had a slightly higher rating and better pricing (especially on Black Friday). I took a chance and tossed out about $115.00 for the 3 battery, 10 cartridge, 2 charger deal that had both the 110 ac and 12V adapters. I have been free of regular cigs since. Every cartridge works and lasts. Some work slightly better than others but on average they work great. The batteries don’t last terribly long but I have 3 and always have 2 in chargers so that solves that problem. Even if I only had 2 batteries, I would still be OK. Now, when I walk past someone smoking outside on the street, it STINKS!!!! My cough is almost 100% gone. In fact I’m down to a single cough every couple days as my lungs clear out the last of the junk. Smoking regular cigs, I avoided the gym because I couldn’t work out an embarrassing cough every few minutes…especially in the morning. Now, I can go to the gym w/o any worry of coughing. I also no longer have the embarrassing weeze that occurs from time to time when smoking regular cigarettes. My teeth which were only slightly discolored before are almost completely white now. I’m convinced that ecigs are healthier than regular cigs. My only remaining concern is whether they are completely benign or if there is some sort of minor harm being done. OK…to get nitpicky. I wish there were a white cartridge option. I also wish there were a volume discount for buying several boxes of cartridges at once. I could use another 10-20% vapor on average although what I get from most of the cartridges is certainly adequate and some cartridges it’s perfect. I gave 4 stars for speed of shipment because I had to wait about a week from the time of my order for the shipment to arrive. If it had been 3 days or less, I would have given 5 stars.

I’ve smoked for just over 33 years, and I’ve either smoked Marlboro Reds or Camel Filters and for the past fifteen years I’ve smoked Camel Lights. I’m addicted to the entire act of smoking, including the chemicals they deliver and the rituals of being a smoker. There are times I really enjoy smoking, like the first cigarette of the day with a strong cup of morning coffee. There are other times and these times are increasing that I absolutely hate being a smoker.
E-cigs do seem to take care of the oral fixation of a smoker and remove the harmful chemicals and byproducts that come with smoking real cigarettes. Also unlike chewing nicotine gum you can drink a cup of coffee or have a beer while you get a dose of nicotine.
The choice in e-cigs I faced was between Green Smoke and Safe Cig. I decided to get the Safe Cig and I have to say that it is very impressive. Only two pieces to deal with, the battery and the cartridge and that’s all. Each cartridge lasts at least as long as two packs of regular cigarettes. There are three flavors to choose from and many levels of nicotine as well. Think of cigarette smoke that tastes better.
The only draw backs are the weight of the unit in your mouth, and at times the draw you get on the cartridge it’s self is not consistent at times. But it does give a good punch for the most part and no second hand smoke. The only other minor issue is that you will have to get used to the hard feeling of the filter, it’s hard and not like a regular filter on a cigarette, but no real big deal.
One last suggestion is that if you have smoked for a long time (15-20+ years) you may want to start with the 18mg cartridge at first. I have been using the 14mg units and feel I need a bit more to get me off the real thing. This is really a solid product to try!
